Materials

We make signs of wood and closed cell polyurethane. Wooden signs aren't available on our shopping site. If you would like to order one please email us. Wooden signs are vulnerable to cracking or splitting over time whereas the urethane we use is impervious to moisture. This means it will not expand and contract like wood and cannot split or crack under natural conditions.

Paint

We generally Benjamin Moore Paint on our signs. We have several standard colors that compliment the gold leaf. These are shown above and further details are provided if you click the "view colors" link above. If you have a custom color you would like to have your sign painted please order custom color on the order form and type in the Benjamin Moore name and number. If you prefer a different manufacturer please send us a quart of the paint you would like used. Please keep in mind if you supply the paint we cannot guarantee the sign.

Gold Leaf

We use Italian Gold leaf which is 23k and hand pounded into this sheets. The leaf is applied to a sizing material which is painted onto the carved characters. When the light reflects off the carved characters they become very luminous and look very elegant.
